Making music in the New Forest
Forestinas is a group of concertina players based around the New Forest.
We meet twice a month at Ringwood, and we have members from throughout Hampshire and Dorset and beyond.
We welcome concertina players of all abilities and players of all concertina systems.
Our music is generally played in parts, and some members have baritone or bass instruments to cover the lower ranges, plus a piccolo(very squeaky!)
One of our activities is to play for charity, and we often play in care homes, for fetes and in church for Christmas Tree festivals.
Each February we hold a full day session to celebrate World Concertina Day, and this attracts non-members from all over the south of England.
If you play a concertina or want to learn, please get in touch with us. We would love to hear from you.
The music we play covers a wide range, from folk to classical, including jazz and pop standards.
